Large Equipment

V2MAX reformer

The V2Max Reformer is a versatile piece of equipment offering seemingly endless programming possibilities. It provides a full-body workout focusing on core strength, stability, postural alignment and flexibility in all planes of movement. It is excellent for challenging balance, co-ordination and concentration as you attempt to move effortlessly through the various movement sequences. It is often used with therapeutic clients as it enables them to exercise while minimizing pressure on the joints.

vertical frame

The Vertical Frame, also known as the Tower, is added to the Pilates Reformer and offers a near complete version of the Cadillac. The Tower is excellent for challenging overall stability, balance and core strength. It adds variety for upper and lower body strengthening. Exercises are done sitting, kneeling or standing.

Stability chair

The Stability Chair is a multi-functional apparatus that is excellent for correcting imbalances and improving core control, stability and balance. It is also ideal for those clients who need to stay in a seated or upright position. The two pedals can move independently or lock together to form one pedal. Splitting the pedals allows you to perform exercises bilaterally, unilaterally and reciprocally.

corealign

The CoreAlign is a unique apparatus known for improving functional strength and mobility. It is excellent for challenging the neuromuscular connection between the brain and the body. Exercises focus on integrating movements of the upper and lower quadrants, giving a full body workout. It is also effective for improving gait, balance, mental focus and body awareness.

Small Equipment

MOTR

The MOTR, which stands for Movement On The Roller, is a portable strength training system. It is great for adding variety to a program or for providing a full body workout. Exercises incorporate balance, agility and core strength. It is also excellent for strengthening the feet and proprioception.

arc barrel

Exercises on the Arc Barrel are effective for improving thoracic mobility, challenging core stability and lengthening the spine. It can add variety to mat programming, make an exercise more challenging or provide support to therapeutic clients.

OOV

The unstable nature of the Oov, when combined with a Pilates ball or resistance band, makes it a great option for strengthening the deep core muscles. With the spinal curves supported, it promotes diaphragmatic breathing which is important for pelvic floor health and core stability.

Meet the team

Sharon

Certified Pilates Instructor

I started taking Pilates in my early 40s at the recommendation of my stepdaughter.  I couldn’t believe the difference it made in my functional strength and overall stability, noticing changes in just a few months.  I fell in love with it very quickly!  After a few years, I decided to become an instructor to share my love of Pilates with others.  It’s rewarding to see people notice changes and improvements in their own bodies in such a short time!  When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and Yorkie going for walks and hikes.   I’m also hopelessly addicted to reading, knitting, and collecting and painting rocks.

Danielle

founder of Superior Pilates, Registered Kinesiologist, Certified Pilates Instructor & Therapeutic Instructor.

My Pilates journey began in my early 20’s when I took mat classes at a local gym. What I recall most is having stronger abs and feeling taller. After every class I had to re-adjust my rearview mirror because my spine had been lengthened and posture improved. I remember thinking ‘wow, Pilates is making a difference!’ I have always loved learning about the human body, how it moves and heals. So, it was a natural progression into the physical rehabilitation field working as a Kinesiologist. Later in life, I developed an SI joint issue and was introduced to Therapeutic Pilates. My body became stronger, more flexible and, most importantly, my pain resolved. After this experience, I knew Pilates was going to part of my life and I wanted to share this passion with others. With the support of my family, and after years of working in the rehabilitation field and teaching Pilates, I decided it was time to live my dream of opening my own studio. I feel privileged to work with so many clients who truly are inspirational and love Pilates as much as I do.
